Naples with GUSTO! Taste a bit of Napoli
Today we discover Naples (Napoli) with its colors and scents, together with Giuseppe Pipolo, guide and expert of the most amazing secrets of Naples and its surroundings.
“I joined Connect2italy before its launch, at the end of June, after meeting with Mr. Alessandro Mancini. I had the pleasure of guiding him in Naples a few weeks earlier. From that moment he took me under his wing, dispensing advice and friendship on a daily basis. I would love to thank him and the platform Connect2Italy C2I. Now I dedicate myself every day to researching and studying new tourist outcomes, niche and elite services, creating ad hoc itineraries and experiences for my clients, thanks to the stimulus and enormous support that all the C2I staff is giving me “.
Speaking of the results brought by being active and present on Connect2Italy?
“I have already had excellent feedbacks, also thanks to the webinars organized for me, and I came into contact with touristic realities that I was previously unaware of. I made contacts from the United States from India, and from Argentina. In particular, I am doing my utmost for a request from two customers from Buenos Aires who will celebrate their anniversary and birthday (60 years) of marriage here in Italy, in Naples and Capri: I am working to make their trip unforgettable “.
How did you “land” among the first on Connect2Italy?
“I met Mr. Alessandro Mancini in full lockdown in May 2020 on the phone! In January my partner met him for advice and talking about this and that, he told him that I was a tour guide in Naples and that I had a great passion for the culture and history of my land. And that this aspect I was able to transmit promptly to my clients of whatever type they were and from wherever in the world they came. And that I wanted to free myself from mass tourism too and do something bolder and more important. These words must have stuck with him because months later he contacted me and told me about the C2I project: I was immediately fascinated. It was what I was waiting for, that is a project that completely embraced my idea of tourism. I was immediately enthusiastic and went aboard the platform “.
Have you seen the first results even if Connect2Italy was recently launched?
“The platform is a newborn. But it is already growing at a frenzied pace: in just one month I was contacted by numerous foreign tour operators: they go to the platform, read my bio and my service portfolio, they contact me for a first approach on the platform itself via chat and then everything you can easily move it to your private devices. It is immediate and intuitive. In addition, I have already made important friendships with other tourist realities in the Italian territory and a nice synergy is emerging: for example with the guys from Cilento Viaggi, who are giving me a great hand in terms of logistics and taxation “.
Let’s play! Now you are a moviemaker… if Connect2Italy were …
If Connect2Italy were a Fruit it would be the pomegranate: a protective container with many shiny and precious grains inside, you just have to choose a few to eat first.
If it were a City it would be any small town in the province of Italy. Pretty streets, tranquility, a few selected inhabitants who all know each other and work together for their own well-being.
If it were a Song it would be Help by the Beatles: you are in an uncomfortable and worrying situation, but then there is always someone who helps you and if you trust and believe in yourself, a world opens up for you (Now I find I’ve changed my mind and opened up the doors).
If it were a Dish, it would not be a single dish but an entire style and an idea of healthy eating: the Mediterranean diet, which is not by chance conceived in Cilento.
If it were a Nation…. The USA is a federation of states that create the most powerful nation in the world, home to modern business and possibilities!
If you could bring two special people (journalists) to Naples for three days where would you take them?
1st day. As soon as you arrive, a coffee at the Nilo bar between the altars of Maradona and symbols of Neapolitanism. Then the first stop is San Martino or Castel Sant’Elmo. To introduce them to the city from above.
Then a classic tour of Spaccanapoli among its monuments.
2nd day. An in-depth visit of the Rione Sanità. The Naples of tradition and folklore: Fontanelle Cemetery, Catacombs of San Gennaro and San Gaudioso. The great architectures of the Palazzi dello Spagnolo and San Felice. And then again the Bourbon Gallery, one of the most suggestive accesses to the belly of underground Naples.
3rd day I would conclude with a day dedicated to food, craftsmanship and Neapolitan style among excellent shops, ateliers and typical shops.
Grazie, thank you!
